I still remember writing those long essays at school for my literature teacher. We used to spend two to three hours sitting on a chair, heads down, immersed in our thoughts with only a blank paper and a blue pen. Complete silence. Everyone was in the flow, aside from Francesco, who had his way of bringing ideas onto paper, doodling, and scribbling.
